PATERSON– June 26, 2018 –The New Jersey Clean Communities Council (NJCCC) has awarded the city’s municipal clean communities coordinator with the “Municipal Coordinator Award” for hosting a variety of clean-up programs throughout the year.

“Clean Communities in Paterson has taken big strides in the past year to be the best possible program,” said Diane Polifronio, in accepting the award.

Through her direction, the city hosted six “Clean Communities/City of Paterson Days” during the spring and the fall, as well as other programming to clean the Passaic River.

“We have a successful program and almost all of our parks are adopted by local groups,” Polifronio said. “We have a stronger education and enforcement program than we ever had and appreciate all the support we get from the Clean Communities Council.”

NJCCC is a comprehensive, statewide litter-abatement program that has served New Jersey residents and visitors for more than 25 years. Learn more at njclean.org.
