TRENTON – August XX, 2025 – Municipal leaders across New Jersey are invited to further ignite community pride and lead the charge for cleaner, greener neighborhoods by entering the New Jersey Clean Communities Council’s (NJCCC) “Litter Rock Star” Slogan Contest.
The deadline for municipal officials to submit a local slogan is Thursday, August 21. The winning entry will be unveiled on October 8 during NJCCC’s 20th-anniversary Awards and Expo in Somerset.
“This contest is a unique opportunity for municipal leaders to showcase their town or county’s creative commitment to litter prevention and inspire residents to take action,” NJCCC Executive Director JoAnn Gemenden said. “We encourage mayors and other local officials to lead by example. Help us elevate your community as a true ‘Litter Rock Star’ and champion clean streets and parks across New Jersey.”
With this year’s theme, “Be a Litter Rock Star,” the contest seeks memorable and creative slogans that highlight communities’ dedication to keeping streets, waterways and public spaces litter-free.
Local leaders are challenged to develop catchy phrases with a rock star theme that motivate and engage residents, making litter prevention a shared priority.
